Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan met members of the US congress ahead of the first round of the China-US Economic and Strategic Dialogues. Wang says the Sino-US bilateral relationship has achieved long-term development since establishing ties 30 years ago.

The Chinese Vice Premier met with Rick Larsen, and Mark Kirk, Co-Chairmen of the US-China Working Group in Congress on Sunday.

Wang Qishan says the Strategic and Economic Dialogues are very important platforms for the government officials on both sides.

He also says the world's largest developing nation and the world's biggest developed country have mutual interests. Wang believes the top priority for the two countries should be to strengthen talks and cooperation. And they should also work together to resolve the global financial crisis and fight trade protectionism.
