At a college recruiting fair in Jinlin Province, many prestigious universities, including Peking University and Fudan University, answered questions from students and their parents. They say economy-related majors are the most popular.

Future College student said "I want to learn economics. I'm interested in it."

In Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangdong, where students have already submitted their college preferences, economics and finance are also hot choices. Despite the economic downturn, students and their parents are all optimistic about the future.

Parent of student said "The employment difficulties are temporary. Maybe there are fewer students choosing to study economics compared with previous years, so it's good for future employment."

Parent of student said "The situation will definitely change in five years, and we should take the long view."

Many students and parents say they are confident about China's economic prospects, so they'd like to choose the economy-related majors.
