Special Report: World tackles A/H1N1 flu |
The new strain of flu has dealt a serious blow to China's travel industry.
Some travel agencies are reporting that fears of an A/H1N1 flu outbreak have bought down numbers signing up for group tours to major overseas destinations such as Japan, the United Sates, and Europe. Some tour operators say the decrease is so dramatic, they don't want to release any specific figures.
But the new flu is not expected to hit the sector as hard as SARS did six years ago. At that time, travel agencies had to shut down, but now at least, they are still seeing enough business to stay open.
