Tourists from the mainland may soon be able to visit to Taiwan this month without having to be part of a tour group.

Travel authorities from both sides are discussing the final details of an agreement on solo trips. Currently, mainland tourists must be part of a group to visit Taiwan. However, the required number in group is now down to five.

Tourism authorities also discussed restrictions on mainland travel agencies to prevent them from undercutting each other on prices.
