Despite the global slowdown, organizers for the Shanghai World Expo are confident that they won't have any problems recovering construction costs. They say the key to profit or loss lies in operating costs.

Huang Jianzhi, Deputy Director of Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination said "Operating costs mainly consists of 2 parts. One is sponsorship fees, and the other is ticket revenue. We've had no problems with our sponsorship money so far."

Organizers say there won't be any free passes. Ticket prices range from 90 yuan to 900 yuan, and pre-orders can enjoy 20 percent off.

The expo is estimated to attract 70 million visitors, and ticket revenues are expected to reach about 6 billion yuan.
