Taiwan has temporarily raised the daily quota of Chinese mainland tourists from 3,000 to 7,200. This, to deal with the growing number of mainland travelers during the upcoming May Day Holiday.

Figures show the number of mainland tourists on April 15th was 5400. It's expected that will increase to a total of 30,000 for the coming week, with a daily average of 4100. After the May Day holiday, the daily quota will return to 3,000 mainland visitors for the rest of the year.
