A travel surge that began in March is continuing. Visitor volume is growing by nearly 30 percent every week. Taiwan tourism authorities say daily visits have already broken the 3,000 limit, set last year, but they will not increase the quota at present.

They also say the most important issue is to ensure service quality. The lowest service standard of 60 US dollars a day will remain unchanged. More hotels and leisure tour sites will be opened in the future to meet the demand of mainland visitors.
