The Guangdong branch of the Bank of China has asked BOC Hong Kong to collect opinions and requests from their clients on the pilot program. Hong Kong will be the first city outside the mainland to run such a pilot program.

BOC Hong Kong says it has completed technical preparations, including signing settlement agreements with overseas banks and building up settlement channels.
