HONG KONG, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) John Tsang will leave for London Thursday night to attend the Group of 20 (G20) finance ministers and central bank governors meeting, the HKSAR government said here Thursday.
The Information Service Department of the HKSAR government said Tsang, together with deputy chief executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority Peter Pang, would attend the G20 meeting as part of the Chinese delegation.
Finance ministers and central bank governors will discuss progress achieved on the action plan agreed at the G20 Leaders Summit in Washington D.C. last November.
The meeting will also make preparations for the G20 Leaders Summit to be held in London on April 1 and 2.
Tsang said participation in the meeting would enable Hong Kong to obtain first-hand information on the latest developments in the world economy and international efforts to tackle the global financial crisis and stimulate growth.
