Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the Vice Minister added that the government has put increasing emphasis on conserving the environment in the last few years. Zhang Lijun also emphasized the need of balance between keeping up growth in certain sectors like the auto market, and minimizing damage to the environment.
He told reporters that authorities are working to meet these goals by allocating money from the central budget to speeding up the elimination of cars with high polluting emissions.
