China has given approval for three more foreign institutions to invest in its main securities markets under its Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor Scheme.

The institutions are Hanwha Investment Trust Management, Emerging Markets Management and DWS Investment. The approvals bring to the number of foreign investors to 79 in the QFII scheme.

It was launched in 2003 as the main way for foreigners to buy Chinese securities. The latest arrivals must obtain currency quotas from China's foreign exchange regulator. Individual quotas are from 100 to 200 million US dollars.
