Talking about the home appliance subsidies scheme in rural areas, Minister of Industry and Information Li Yizhong said the measure will dramatically boost electronic manufacturing industry with in one to three years. As for the current employment situation, Minister of Human Resources and Social Security Yin Weimin pointed out the economic slowdown has directly hurt employment, with the urban unemployment rate increased from the fourth quarter last year and some rural migrant workers lost their jobs. He said the negative impact posed mainly on industrial companies especially labor intensive manufacturers. But he said the government has issued a series of measures to boost employment, and they have begun take effect.

Yin Weimin, Minister of Ministry of Human Resources & Social Security, says, "the newly added labor force in urban areas rebounded in January and February, the number is 690 thousand and 930 thousand respectively. That is a dramatic increase compared with last November and December. "
