Finance minister Xie Xuren said on Friday morning that the government's tax cut policies will slash half a trillion yuan from the tax burdens on enterprises and individuals this year.

He also said in a bid to pull through the crisis, the central government has attached great importance to adopting proactive fiscal policies.

The policy mainly focuses on five aspects, which include expanding the government's public investment and enhancing construction of key projects.

The central government has earmarked 908 billion yuan for public investment this year. That's 487.5 billion yuan more than in last year's budget.
