Watching from the sidelines of the CPPCC meeting, some government officials and scholars have given their point of view on China's economic outlook. Let's have a look.

Chen Deming, Commerce Minister said "China will keep the yuan stable despite the weakening currencies of some of its neighbors. So far, I haven't see any trend of modest yuan depreciation."

Su Ning, Deputy Governor of People's Bank of China said "The overall economic conditions are currently normal and we could very possibly see a recovery in the first half. We're confident about the economy."

Li Yining, economist said "China may attain its targeted 8 percent economic growth, or even higher in 2009. The economic slowdown is beginning to bottom out, and the economy is bound to rebound on huge government investment."
