Special Report: House Market under New PolicyBeijing still has 35,000 units of new houses waiting to be sold, as of Saturday this week. That is the highest level in 3 years according to figures from the Beijing Real Estate Trading Management Network.

Looking back at 2008, as of the end of December, Beijing had built 109,400 new houses, of which more than 30,000 houses were not sold. But experts think the stockpile of houses should sell out in the 18 months ahead, according to the current selling speed. They think that it's the prevailing wait-and-see attitude that's keeping transaction volumes down on the Beijing market.
