The meeting set up three major tasks for the electronic and information industry for the next three years. First, the industry will improve its structure and maintain stable growth of its major products. It should enhance competitiveness in its computer manufacturing and improve component production. It should also upgrade video digital products.

Secondly, the industry will look to boost innovation. By developing key technologies, the industry will be able to develop independent circuit production and improve software development capabilities.

Lastly, the industry should promote the application of its products. It should promote the use of products in various fields including telecom, information service and information technology application.

To achieve these tasks, some measures will be launched to facilitate the moves. The government will take measures to stimulate the domestic demand for the products and put more investment in the industry. It will also encourage service outsourcing and provide more support to exports.

The government says it will offer assistance to 10 key sectors and has already announced its plans for the auto, steel and textile sectors.
