The official cars of the Beijing Olympics will be put up for auction soon. The public sale is expected to fetch nearly 100 million yuan.

The official cars of the Beijing Olympics will be put up  for auction soon.

This car was specially modified for the Beijing Olympics, and was used by IOC officials. It's fuel-efficient, has a temperature-sensitive air-conditioner, and plush leather seats. Similar cars sell for more than 2.1 million yuan, but the auction reserve price is 1.9 million.

Sixty Audi T-5s will also be auctioned together. Mr. Wu from Shijiazhuang city is keen to buy one.

Mr. Wu, a car buyer says, "the price for this car should be less than 500 thousand yuan, although the same kind of car sells for nearly 600 thousand. This is an official car for the Beijing Olympics, so I think it's worth buying."

Kong Fei, vice sales manager of Beijing Huariling Auto Sales co., says, "the price for these cars is 10 to 20 percent less than the market price, and the interior fittings are of a higher standard than usual."

One third of all the Beijing Olympic cars have already been sold. Most of the other Olympic assets are being sold by auction.
