Beijing will arrange jobs for over 10-thousand people in quake-hit Sichuan province this year. And at least ten percent of the positions will be located in Beijing.

The Beijing Municipal Labor and Social Security Bureau announced on Monday that the 10-thousand positions will mainly be in the service, manufacture and processing industries.

Ren Jianxin, official of Beijing Municipal Labor & Social Security Bureau, says, "at least one thousand positions will be based in Beijing. We will recruit mainly from Shifang and Deyang cities as well as other parts of Sichuan province."

Beijing will hold three job fairs in the cities of Sichuan including Shifang and Deyang over the coming year.

A job fair in February will coincide with millions of migrant workers starting their annual job hunt after the Spring Festival. The second fair in May or June will target a fresh batch of university graduates. And the third fair will be held in September or October as farmers begin looking to make extra money after harvesting.

Liu Xiaojun, director of Beijing Human Resources Center, says, "we will gather information about jobs and send it to Shifang by the end of February. Shifang will publicize this information to local migrant workers and then send feedback to us to make the job fairs more efficient."

The Beijing municipal government will register and track all the migrant workers from the quake zone who are currently working in Beijing. The move aims to ensure they are paid on time and have access to social security.
