Thousands of would be-home buyers are banding together in Beijing to negotiate discounts with real estate developers.
The community is newly established in Beijing, and it has attracted over 30,000 members within 2 months. So far, the transaction value has reached over 50 million yuan.
The group just completed another round of house hunting last weekend with some buyers getting very attractive offers.
Jin Xin, General Manager of fulong.com, Beijing branch said "So far, the biggest discount we could give is 5 percent off. But developers did not want the news to be exposed to other buyers. The offer is for group buyers only."
Analysts say existing home owners may be dissatisfied as these new discounts are very generous. Despite the discount, developers actually welcome these collective buyers, which is why some of the deals are exclusive for group buyers only.
