India's largest automobile company, Tata Motors says the world's cheapest car is set to make its debut in October, this year. The 4-seater Nano will cost two thousand five hundred US dollars. That's about half the cost of the cheapest car on the market today.

The Managing Director of Tata Motors says efforts are underway to roll out the car according to schedule. Tata designed the car years ago as a safer and more affordable alternative for the millions of Indians who often ferry families of four, plus baggage, on motorbikes and scooters.
