The China National Textile and Apparel Council said on Friday that they represent 15 percent of the country's total exports. The increase led to a trade surplus of 140 billion US dollars in this sector in the period, which accounted for 60 percent of the country's total trade surplus during the same period.

The United States and Japan remain the top two export destinations. And exports to both destinations increased while exports to the European Union dropped slightly due to some anti-dumping disputes in the period.

According to the General Administration of Customs, China's trade surplus soared over 50 percent in the first 11 months of 2007 against the same period a year earlier.
