Demand for China's exported toys has bounced back to earlier levels, despite a spate of recalls earlier this year. This is according to customs authorities in Guangdong Province, a major base for the toy-making industry in southern China.
Figures from Huangpu Customs show Guangdong's toy exports slipping 5.4 percent in September compared to the same period last year. But demand for exports has regained its earlier momentum to register a year-on-year increase of more than 25 percent for the month of October.
Analysts are citing rising demands in the Christmas shopping season as a factor, adding that recalls clearly had minimal impact on the region's toy-making industry.
