In China the northeastern port of Dalian is set to burst onto the world business map. It's hosting the first annual meeting of the "New Champions," known as the "Summer Davos."
More than 17-hundred people will attend the Dalian meeting, which runs from Thursday until Saturday. They include government officials, academics and business leaders from 90 countries and regions. The meeting will help link multi-nationals and growth companies from around the world. It will also address key issues that growth companies face, including branding and financial governance.
After Dalian, the next annual meeting of the New Champions forum will be held in Tianjin next year.
