China's Commerce Minister has defended the quality of locally-made goods, saying that 99 percent of food exports meet quality controls and adhere to global quality standards.

Bo Xilai was speaking at a meeting attended by economic ministers from ASEAN countries. He pointed out that more than 60 percent of exports are made and inspected according to standards set by foreign importers and buyers.
