Special Report:   HK 10 Years

Sunday was the Mother's Day in the west. But with globalization, more and more people in the East are celebrating with hearts of appreciation to their mothers.

Flowers are surely a good way to say thank-you to mothers on the Mother's Day. In Hong Kong's flower shops, people jammed up for buying different kinds of flowers. Pink carnations were still the most popular, in particular those from the US. Other flowers like roses also enjoyed warm welcome.

"A customer paid 4-thousand HK dollars for 99 American red roses, " says flower shop owner.

Some people chose to invite their mothers for a dinner.

"I treat my mother dinner on each Mother's Day. And I want to thank her for raising us up," says a HK resident.

Some other families spent the special day at Hong Kong's Disney World. Many mothers said that as they spent time with their children watching them growing day by day, it's also important for themselves to enjoy life."

"All of a sudden, I realized that my daughter has grown up. Five years ago, she's still a little kid. I feel I'm really getting old," says a HK resident.

No matter which way people choose to celebrate the Mother's Day, it is their love to the mothers that has made the festival warmer and happier.
