Special Report:   HK 10 Years

Hong Kong customs has cracking down on shops that were recently accused of selling fake goods to mainland tourists. Tourism officials say they will strengthen credibility promotion in the sector.

The Hong Kong government says mainland tourist spending could drop if the situation isn't addressed.

As the May Day holidays approach, local authorities say they will cooperate with mainland counterparts to encourage travellers to join reputable travel groups. They say they will also investigate other shops and will make credit records for violators.
