Special Report: Premier Wen visits JapanPremier Wen Jiabao says China and Japan will launch a high-level economic dialogue mechanism during his visit to the country next week.
In an interview with 16 Japanese news media on Wednesday, the premier said China will adopt an open attitude to economic and trade cooperation with Japan as long as such cooperation is based on mutual benefit and equality.
Wen Jiabao says strengthening China-Japan economic and trade cooperation is in the interests of both countries. Wen and hsi Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe will co-chair a meeting to start up the high-level economic dialogue mechanism, and determine the respective heads of the two countries responsible for the mechanism.
They will also work out a schedule for the mechanism's first meeting. The top-level visit is slated for April 11-13, and will be the first to Japan by a Chinese premier in seven years.
