China's anti-bribery campaign made huge progress last year, with over 50 percent more cases solved than in 2005.

China's Ministry of Public Security says it accepted and investigated about 1,200 commercial bribery cases last year, and solved more than 990 of them. The ministry recovered losses of over 64 million yuan during the period. It urged local police to strengthen efforts to uncover, strike and control commercial bribery.

The ministry also called for more focus on corruption in sectors with great impact on local citizens, such as property and land use.
