Premiums of insurance firms in China in the first 11 months of the year rose nearly 14 percent from a year earlier to 518 billion yuan or 66 billion US dollars.

The China Securities Journal has reported that , life insurance premiums in the first 11 months were up 11 percent from a year ago to 380 billion yuan. Property insurance premiums came to 138 billion yuan, marking a 22 percent annual growth. By the end of November, insurers has 1.14 trillion yuan in investment fund under management, 32 percent greater than a year earlier. China's insurance sector hs been developing rapidly. Annual growth in insurance premiums accelerated to 14 percent last year, from the 11 percent in 2004.
