China, already the world's fastest growing advertising market, is on the verge of surpassing Japan as the second largest. Nielsen Media Research says that China will definitely eclipse Japan, and it's just a matter of time.

NMR's research on advertising spending in 2005 showed that China ranked third with 37 billion U.S. dollars, while Japan was second with 38.4 billion dollars after the United States. China ranked fifth in 2004. Separately. NMR also says the company expects to expand to more Chinese cities by the end of 2007, and its research will cover approximately three-quarters of the Chinese population.
