The "Year of Russia" in China will wrap up with a closing ceremony on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Chinese Minister of Commerce Bo Xilai and his Russian counterpart German Gref pointed the key areas for improvement in bilateral trade and economic relations.

Trade ministers of two friendly neighbours and good partners are standing together for no less positive messages.

While China and Russia are seeing record high trade volume of around 25 billion US dollars during the first nine months of this year, Chinese commerce Minister said that there is still great potential to increase the number.

Bo Xilai, Minister of Ministry of Commerce said: "Russia has very high-quality products in electro-machinery, hi-technology, civil aviation and raw materials. These are all complementary to China. Bilateral trade is expected to increase in quantity and improve in structure."

They have brought their products all the way from Russia for this exhibition, so they won't miss the opportunity to showcase what they have to the Chinese commerce minister.

The exhibition is the largest ever held between China and Russian businesspeople. And this is a very important event for the 2006 Year of Russia in China.

German Gref, Minister of Russian Minister of Trade said: "The exhibition is a good opportunity for Chinese and Russian businessmen to discuss economic cooperation. I am very optimistic that there will be substantial results from the exhibition. It will serve as a catalyst for further economic cooperation between the two countries."

The exhibition will be officially launched on Friday. Chinese vice premier Wu Yi and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov are expected to attend the ceremony.
