BizChina's Edward Law joined the show in 2003 after nearly a decade of experience in the financial services industry. Born and raised in London, he was inspired by his mother early on to "return to help China". Later, he took a first step towards that goal by learning Chinese and he graduated with a degree in Modern Chinese Studies from The University of Leeds in 1994.

His corporate career began at Standard Chartered Bank and in London and he was posted to Hong Kong where he saw many fortunes won and lost in the boom and bust of the 1990's. Edward returned to London where he joined Prudential, one of Europe's leading investment institutions.

"The Hong Kong economy was booming but then we all learnt the hard way during the Asian Financial Crisis and the economic downturn that followed. Now that 1.3 billion Chinese are faced with new economic challenges, I hope that I can share my knowledge with as many people as possible. Some people will become very rich very quickly but the other 99% have to work hard for many years and suffer first when the economy goes bad."

Edward believes passionately that a basic financial education is necessary for anyone who wants some financial security in these uncertain times. "We know what happens when economies fail. China has a very important role to play in today's brotherhood of nations. Now everybody understands that China must succeed not only for the sake of the Chinese but also for the rest of the world. I want to contribute to China's success in some small way."

Becoming an anchor for BizChina was in many ways a dream come true for Edward. "I discovered that most people are confused by financial matters so I started writing and talking about personal finance in my magazine column and investment seminars. Now I am broadcasting from Beijing, I am reaching out to millions of people all over the world! We love to get messages from viewers from so many different places and my even family watches BizChina regularly from England."
