BEIJING, Nov. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- Travel agencies in Tibet recently made an inspection tour of the travel routes in Nyingchi Prefecture, southeastern Tibet, according to Tibet Business.
Joining the tour, organized by Tibet‘s Holy Land Travel Co. Ltd, were managers from about 50 travel agencies.
After the tour ended, the managers said that they are confident in exploring Tibet‘s tourism resources and expanding its market shares in other parts of China.

"Besides the regular travel routes, the tour also took us to some newly-opened routes, giving us new ideas about tapping Tibet‘s tourism market," said a manager of Nyignchi‘s Holiday Travel Agency.
"I was deeply impressed by the magnificence of the Namjagbarwa Peak, the elegance of Lake Basum and the rafting on the Nyang River," she added.
There are also newly-opened routes to Medog County, China‘s last roadless county. Meanwhile, the launch of the professional rafting routes along the Nyang River and the entrance to the Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon can also meet the demand of rafting enthusiasts.
Some travel agencies have already worked out plans based on the result of the inspection tour. "Traveler, Travel to Tibet," a travel agency engaging mainly in outdoor travel services, introduced six new routes to Nyingchi.
As Nyingchi is located at a relatively lower altitude and has agreeable weather, it has attracted more visitors than other parts of Tibet. Outdoor activities are also very challenging in the prefecture, according to a manager of the agency.
"Next year we will introduce new travel activities such as mountaineering, rafting and expedition," said the manager.
