Lhasa's forest survival rate likely to hit 85% in drought year

　　BEIJING, Sept. 20 -- The survival rate of new forests in Lhasa is likely to reach 85 percent despite the severe drought earlier this year, according to the Lhasa City Forestry Bureau.

　　New forests have been irrigated with water from ditches, streams and pipes in order to reduce the effects of the severe drought on the survival rate of new forests, according to Dradul, director of the Lhasa City Forestry Bureau.

　　Beside, the Financial Department of Tibet has allocated 2.3 million yuan to fight against drought, the worst in 30 years in Tibet.
