BEIJING, Aug. 11 (Xinhuanet) -- The 10th Gannan Shambhala Tourism Festival will be held in Zhouqu County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, from Aug. 28 to 30, according to Yang Drolma, deputy commissioner of the prefecture.
This festival is aimed to display the county‘s unique folk customs and ecological culture, thus expressing local people‘s resolve to rebuild their homes and gratitude to national assistance, said Yang.

Shambhala, also known as "Shangri-la," means paradise in the Tibetan language.
Zhouqu County covers an area of 3,010 sq km and has a population of 136,900, with Tibetans making up 33.79 percent. It was one of the worst-affected areas in the quake that occurred on May 12 last year.
