BEIJING, Aug. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- A group of 127 volunteers for the Asian Games arrived in Lhasa, capital of Tibet, on Sunday to promote the 16th Asian Games to be held in Guangzhou in 2010.
In the next few days, the volunteers will carry out promotional activities for the 2010 Asian Games in Lhasa, Nyingchi and Xigaze.

Among the 127 volunteers, the youngest is only nine, while the oldest, 70. Students account for a quarter of the group members, who left Guangzhou on July 27 and traveled 6,920 kilometers by train before reaching Lhasa.
Revisiting the Tanghla Mountain Pass, where the Beijing Asian Games Torch was ignited 19 years ago, is a major part of their trip to Tibet.
The Tanghla Mountain Pass at an altitude of 5,231 meters, known as the "forbidden area for life", is the natural boundary between Qinghai Province and Tibet, and the highest place which the Qinghai-Tibet Railway passes through.
Wang Huanqing, director of the Volunteer Department of the 2010 Asian Games Organizing Committee, said, "Nineteen years after the Beijing Asian Games, it is significant for these volunteers to bless for the 2010 Asian Games at the Tanghla Mountain Pass."
