Special Report: Tech MaxCHICAGO, May 4 (Xinhua) -- There are now nine confirmed cases of A/H1N1 flu in the U.S. state of Illinois, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reported Monday.
So far, there are an additional 90 suspected A/H1N1 flu cases in 10 counties in the state and definitive test results have yet to be completed.
The highest number of confirmed and suspected cases remains in the city of Chicago, where there are now five confirmed and 29 suspected cases, the IDPH said.
Schools and daycare centers in Chicago and its surrounding areas continued to be closed Monday in response to the epidemic. At least two of 17 schools shut down across the Chicago region were expected to resume classes on Tuesday.
Twenty-eight students throughout the Chicago Public Schools system were sent home Monday with flu symptoms.
