Special Report: Tech MaxHANOI, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese Ministry of Health confirmed on Friday that a 23-year-old Vietnamese woman from northern Thanh Hoa province died of bird flu.

The woman developed symptoms similar to bird flu patients on April 16 and was taken to local hospital for treatment.
She died on April 22. Test by the National Institute of Infectious and Tropical Disease showed that she has contracted the deadly H5N1 bird flu virus.
The neighborhood that the woman hailed from has recently reported death of a large number of fowls for unknown reasons.
This is the fourth person who died of bird flu in Vietnam so far this year.
