A press conference on the Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2009,  was held in Beijing, capital of China, September 3, 2009.

The Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2009, also known as the Summer Davos, will be held in the coastal city of Dalian, China, September 10 to 12, 2009.

Li Wancai, Acting Mayor of Dalian, introduced the city’s preparatory work for the upcoming meeting during the press conference.

Li also stated the city’s endeavor of adding innovation points and local elements to the Summer Davos and the city’s great confidence in the hosting of the meeting.

The meeting with its theme of “Re-launching Growth” will be focused on green economy, innovation and economic growth.

More than 1,300 participants from 86 countries and regions were confirmed to take part in this year's meeting, including the President of Latvia, the Prime Minister of Macedonia, and the Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam and other prominent figures.

At the press conference, the World Economic Forum (WEF) also released the latest programme and the names of the key panelists and discussion leaders to be present the meeting.
