"Child soldiers" found among the Terracotta Army of the Qin Dynasty

On October 19, 2009, Yuan Zhongyi, a renowned expert in terracotta warriors and horses of the Qin Dynasty and the Honorary Curator of the Museum of the Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Qin Shihuang, said that the visitors to the Museum were all deeply impressed by the awe-inspiring Terracotta Army. But recently, a very small number of "young fighters" were found among the terracotta warriors of the Qin Dynasty (BC221-BC207).

Ever since the Terracotta Army of the Qin Dynasty was discovered, more than 1,000 terracotta warriors have been excavated and unearthed from the pits. Yuan Zhongyi said: "Although some terracotta figures wear a moustache, yet they have a young face. They look innocent and childish. They are like 'young fighters.'"
