China's No.1 giant advertises for a life partner online

Having seen his younger brother and sister get married, Zhao, who is 2.46 meters tall and known as the No.1 giant in China, decided to advertise for a life partner on a match maker website during the National Day holiday.

Yao Ming, a famous basketball player, is known as Little Giant. Bao Xishun, who used to hold the title of the tallest man in the World, is 10 centimeters taller than Yao Ming. However, 27 year-old Zhao from Henan Province now ranks the first among all giants, surpassing Bao and Yao by 10 and 20 centimeters respectively.

On October 6, many citizens came to Zhao Liang's work place in  Fengtai District to have their photo taken with him.

27 year-old Zhao is from the city of Puyang in Henan Province. By the age of 16, he was 1.90 meters tall, and when he was 17, he was recommended to the basketball team of the provincial sports school. Physical examination indicated that he was growing normally and was in good health. However, as a key player in the team he injured his left foot during a dunk, which never recovered and forced him to leave the basketball team.

Since then Zhao has been quietly engaged in farm work. Due to his grand stature, a performing arts company became interested in him. However, he gave this work up for various reasons. Until April this year, a relative helped him make contact with a hospital in Tianjin, where doctors cured his foot injury free of charge. Not long after, Zhao started work at Oubao Flooring and became part of the management personnel.

On the morning of October 6, our reporter saw Zhao in Jimei Furnishings promoting the enterprise he works for. "You are great. I have watched your programs. When I am rich enough, I will give you a pair of shoes made especially for you," said an elderly lady holding Zhao's hand, looking at him with affection and patting his face. Many passers-by came and had their photo taken with him.

Wherever he goes, Zhao is the center of attention. In spite of improvement in his foot injury, his career is in an early stage, but there is one wish he cherishes deep in his heart. Zhao mentioned that his sister, who is two years younger than him, and his brother, who is four years younger than him, are both married. "My brother's children can walk now." As the eldest son, he still has no girlfriend. "My parents are worried, but there's nothing to be done." During the National Day holiday, he advertised online for his Miss Right. However as of yesterday, no messages had been posted from girls, according to our reporter who logged on to the website.

Mr Zhao, the general manager of Oubao Flooring and Zhao's manager, mentioned that they were also concerned about Zhao's marriage prospects, and that he tells girls not to worry about Zhao's height because he is growing normally and is healthy. As to the requirements of the candidates, Zhao is very honest and simple." The requirements are simple; the candidate should respect her parents." In terms of height and age, Zhao said that it would not be a big problem if there was no significant discrepancy.
