Weekend opening

The Beijing municipal committee of communications is yet to confirm Line 4's launch date. However, insiders have told METRO that trains will be running on Saturday or Sunday.

There have been numerous media reports in recent days that the line will open on Friday, but the committee yesterday said this was not the case and passengers should await further notice.

METRO suggests commuters read the weekend edition of China Daily or call the subway Line 4 service hotline 6398 8622, which has an English-language service.
