Bus lines starting with "9" to install 3G monitoring system

2009-09-14 16:11 BJT

Beijing Bafangda Passenger Transportation Company announced on September 10 that 3G monitoring systems will be installed on a total of 50 buses, whose numbers begin with nine, to monitor the interior and exterior of the bus in order to guarantee security during the National Day holidays.

On September 10, a 3G card was installed on No.919 buses and the entire journey will be digitally monitored. This means that a dispatcher, sitting in a main monitoring room, can clearly see the driving and road conditions, passengers on buses or at bus stops, as well as other situations, so as to flexibly allocate buses.

For instance, once buses with monitoring systems drive into large stops such as Liujiayao and Caoqiao, dispatchers will be able to see how many people are waiting at the stop and then decide whether an extra bus is needed. It is still a little backward however, as at present work staff can only make decisions based on the number of people who have swiped their IC cards.

In addition, with the approaching of National Day, Bafangda Company reminds passengers to avoid bringing excessive liquor, cooking oil and other things on buses because they might be prohibited from getting on buses.
