43-year-old Su He used to be a herdsman in Bai county in Xilin Gol. But now he's the owner of one of the county's largest hay mower companies, with annual sales revenues topping 2 and a half million yuan, or over 300 thousand US dollars.

Su He opened a small factory seven years ago. Sales have grown from just a dozen machines at the beginning to more than 500 last year.

"The actual grassland in this region is quite limited. It's impossible to improve living standards by herding. So I thought I must do something other than raising cattle and sheep," says Su He, Hay mower factory owner.

Su He wasn't just the first local to get involved selling mowers. He also wanted a better machine.
