The Third Cross-Straits Economic and Cultural Forum closed in Beijing yesterday. The forum gathered representatives from Taiwan and the mainland to discuss issues related to direct flights, education, and tourism across the Taiwan Straits. To take a closer look at the direction and influence of the Third Cross-Straits Economic and Cultural Forum, we are joined here by Mr. Xu Shiquan, Chinese mainland expert on Taiwan issues and Mr. Charles H. The 3rd Cross-Strait economic, trade and cultural forum had run from Apr. 28th to 29th. China´s top leader, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Hu Jintao has met with Kuomintang Honorary Chairman Lien Chan. Both expressed willingness to jointly promote peaceful cross-Strait development.
As the Third Cross-Straits Economic and Cultural Forum closes, China Taiwan, China.org.cn and China Radio International will jointly host a live discussion to study the renewed direction it has provided, at 9:00 am on April 30.
