Geography

Nearly at the same altitude of Hawaii,Hainan Province locates in the southermost of China. Hainan lies in the central part of Asian Pacific Economic Circle, facing Leizhou Peninsula of Guangdong over the Qiongzhou Strait. Exactly,the west of the island borders the Gulf of Tongkin,with Vietnam visible in the distance,and the east of the island is near to Hong Kong and Taiwan. The South Sea in south of the island adjoins to Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and other southeast countries. Located on the west coast of Pacific, Beijing is situated at 39O56' North Latitude and 116O20' East Longitude. The capital of China (Beijing) lies at approximately the same latitude as Philadelphia in the U.S. and Madrid in Spain. Hainan Time is counted the same as Beijing Time,which is 8 hours ahead of GMT(Greenwich Mean Time).
