Colum Bancroft runs Interior Enhancement Limited, a design business based in Hong Kong. He spent more than ten years as an accountant before starting his own company.

"Hong Kong had some difficult years between '98 and 2003, but that was an economic cycle more than anything else. I don't think it had to do with the handover per se. I think it was just, it was a downturn. I think in recent years Hong Kong has been on the up and up, and it feels pretty much the same as it did in the mid-90s when things were good, property prices were going up, and the general mood was a good one," said Column Bancroft CEO of Interior Enhancement Limited.

Bancroft's company provides building materials to clients around the world.

"We now have the expertise has been transferred to our Chinese workers at the factory. A lot of the expertise, not all of it. So we're much more competitive than we were in the beginning and we've managed to maintain the quality. So our company is looking in good shape," said Column Bancroft.

"I didn't have any regrets that I didn't return to the UK. No, no I didn't have regrets. As things have developed and our business has grown that belief has been justified," said Colum Bancroft.

Bancroft provided moldings and interiors for Kowloon's Cricket Club.
