From now on, residents can experience clay target shooting at Beijing Shooting Range CTF, attend concerts at Beijing Shooting Range Hall theater and visit all the Olympic venues and parks in Shijingshan District by using a “Fitness Card.” On June 11, the Shijingshan District government issued a post-Games utilization plan for the Olympic venues under its jurisdiction. The seven venues jointly make up China’s first Olympic venue sports industry alliance. An official said this will boost complementary operations of different venues.

Seven venues are under unified management and put into complementary operations

Shijingshan District has a total of seven Olympic venues—Laoshan Velodrome, Laoshan Mountain Bike Course, Beijing Shooting Range Hall, Beijing Shooting Range CTF, Laoshan Bicycle Moto Cross (BMX) Venue, Shougang Basketball Center and Shijingshan Gymnasium.

“Following the end of the Olympics, Shijingshan District has been considering how to break the bottleneck of post-Games utilization of venues facing previous Olympic Games host cities and prevent the venues constructed by the country from sitting idle,” said Fu Shengzhu, Deputy District Chief at Shijingshan District.

To this end, Shijingshan District established the nation’s first Olympic venue sports industry alliance on June 11. Under government authorities’ management, the venues will perform their respective duties. Some will host international and domestic competitions on a regular basis, some will organize training programs for vogue sports or become body-building bases, and some will be modified through reconstruction.

“This can strengthen communication between the government and the venues to avoid malicious competition and boost complementary operations,” the official pointed out.
