BMHB asks returning overseas students to keep travel details

On May 17, Beijing Municipal Health Bureau (BMHB) delivered a letter to overseas Chinese students and their parents, calling on the students who plan to return to China in the near future to keep track of all their travel details and stay at home for observation.

The three cases of A/H1N1 influenza recently confirmed in Chinese mainland were all cases that were imported.

The notice appeals to the parents of overseas students to urge their children who plan to return home in the near future to keep their boarding pass and carefully memorize the flight number, date and place of boarding, the number and schedule of the connecting flight, the name of the hotel and the room number where they stayed during the period of waiting for the connecting flight.

BMHB and the Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention hope that overseas Chinese students who have returned stay at home for observation. Within seven days after returning to China, the students should avoid participating in classmate reunions and visiting relatives, friends and teachers as well as keep away from crowded areas. During the observation period at home, they should keep good hygienic habits, and thoroughly and frequently clean hands with soap and water. They should also ensure sufficient sleep and nutritional diet as well as regular exercise.

After returning to China, people are expected to see a doctor as soon as they find themselves getting sick. Once flu symptoms are displayed, they should see the doctor of the fever clinic in regular medical agencies and explain to doctors how things happened.
