Special Report:   One Year after 5.12 Quake

The “5.12” earthquake generated over 100 quake lakes in Sichuan alone, of these Tangjiashan quake lake in Beichuan County is the most well-known. Its 320 million cubic meters of water submerged numerous towns in the upper reaches, threatening 500,000 residents downstream and caused the city of Mianyang to become deserted.
